The chicken blend
Hoender Speserye chicken braai seasoning is described as suited to chicken pieces, wings, drumsticks, fillets and whole roasted chicken. It can be sprinkled on before cooking, used in a marinade or rub, or added during preparation. It also works on other meats and vegetables.
Tips for chicken on the fire
- Season all sides and under the skin edges where you can.
- Cook over moderate coals so the outside does not burn before the middle is cooked.
- Chicken is done when the juices run clear and the thickest part reaches 74°C.
What to serve with it
A creamy, fiery garlic peri peri sauce is made for chicken, chips and burgers and works as a marinade or at the table. For a milder, sweeter finish try Soet Rissie sweet chilli sauce.
Other all-round options
Braai Sprinkel, an all-round blend for chicken and more works on chicken as well as meat, boerewors, chips and salads.
Always follow the directions and ingredient list on the pack. Allergen information is printed on the label.
